Q. How can I get a Police Ride Along?

A. The Mayfield Police Department has a ride-along program to which it is very simple to apply. Simply go to the Police Department and sign a waiver. You will be checked, and if you are approved (you must be 18, and not have a criminal record or warrants), you will be informed of a  scheduled time and day for you to ride-along. Your ride-along will consist of actually riding in a working police car with a patrol officer. You see the officer working during his shift...answering calls, stopping cars, and everything else that makes up a typical tour-of-duty. Riding along with an officer can be an eye-opening experience.
