RECYCLING CENTER The site is located at Mayfield Public Works, 1101 Pryorsburg Road. The location is next door to Mayfield Machine and Tool. The hours of operation are 8 am - 4 pm Monday through Friday, and closed on any city-observed holidays. Plastics are NOT being accepted temporarily until some adjustments can be made to the program.
Aluminum cans - please empty cans and rinse, if possible. Do not mix with other metals such as tin or steel.
Batteries - Car, Motorcycle and lawnmower
batteries only - no household batteries!
Books - Any old books in any condition -
whether hardcover or paperback -- even phonebooks -- can be recycled.
These can be sorted with magazines and other mixed paper.
Cardboard - Corrugated cardboard and board
boxes such as those containing food will be accepted.
Eyeglasses - Old eyeglasses are collected
and donated to the Lions Club.
Inkjet Cartridges
Mixed Paper - This includes magazines,
slick paper, office paper, junk mail, envelopes, etc. If shredded paper
is brought in plastic bags, please empty them onto the trucks and dispose of
the plastic bags by other means.
Motor Oil - Cannot be mixed with anything
-- please bring in containers that do not have to be returned.
Newspapers - Must be clean and dry.
We cannot use them if they have previously been wet, then dried. If
transported in plastic bags. Remove bags before loading onto truck.
Plastic - Types 1 and 2 plastic only!
Includes all plastic food bottles such as milk, juice, 2-liters and smaller
drinks, cooking oil, detergent bottles, etc. Labels do not have to be
removed, but please removed all caps and rings.
